  • 1Lt Gilbert T. Savage, Jr. (P) - Mission 135 flown as CoPilot with a combat orientation crew. Other missions as 1st Pilot. Completed combat tour on 24 June 1944.

  • 2Lt John Schwolow at Grand Island, NE, prior to ferrying a B-17 to England

    2Lt John C. Schwolow (CP) - Did not fly on seven missions (135, 136, 137, 169, 181, 186 & 189). Flew on four other missions as CoPilot with four different Pilots (136, 137, 194, 195). Upgraded from CoPilot to Pilot on orders dated 05 July 1944. Flew on three missions as a 1st Pilot (199, 200, 202). Combat tour completed on 12 July 1944.

  • 2Lt George A. Coughlin (B) - Flew on nine missions with the 1Lt Savage crew (136(A), 137, 138, 139, 140, 141, 142(Spare), 143, 165). Substitute Bombardiers or Toggliers used on other missions. Also flew on twenty-one additional missions with eleven different Pilots (169, 178, 180, 188, 190, 195, 198, 200, 211, 214, 215, 216, 220, 222, 226, 228, 240, 247, 251, 252, 254). Combat tour completed on 9 Oct 1944.

  • S/Sgt John D. Kelley (E) - Flew on twenty-one missions with the 1Lt Savage crew (missions 136 through 173). Became a POW on mission 187, 21 June 1944. to Berlin, Germany in B-17 #42-97096 (No name) (427BS) GN-T, 1Lt Charles R. Allen crew.

  • T/Sgt Samuel D. Paul (R) - Flew on twenty-seven missions with the 1Lt Savage crew (136 through 173, 177, 179, 181, 184, 185, 186). Substitute Radio Operators used on other missions. Flew on six additional missions with five different Pilots (132, 175, 176, 178, 180, 183). Combat tour completed on 21 June 1944.

  • S/Sgt Richard R. Holt (BTG) , S/Sgt Wilber R. Layton (WG) and S/Sgt Edward J. Stover (TG) - Flew on all of the 1Lt Savage crew missions except mission 135. Flew on one additional mission (192), Combat tours completed on 25 June 1944.

  • T/Sgt Arthur G. Jefferson (WG/E) - With 1st Lt Savage: Twenty one missions as Waist Gunner (136 through 173); Thirteen missions as Engineer (175 through 190). Also flew on mission 192 with a different Pilot. Combat tour completed on 25 June 1944.
