Bam Bam, piloted by 2Lt James B. Taylor and 2Lt Walter R. Kyse, was hit on the left wing by a "belly" tank. It left a hole in the wing and destroyed the left aileron. The pilots, with the help of S/Sgt Douglas L. Jones, engineer, flew Bam Bam home with limited controls.
