Crew Notes: All missions flown by all crewmen with the following exceptions where substitute crewmen were used:

  • 1Lt Chester N. Oranges (P) - Completed combat tour on 22 Jun 1944

  • 1Lt George C. Lawrenson (CP) - Did not fly on fifteen missions (135, 136, 172, 174, 175, 176, 177, 182, 183, 184, 186, 187, 188). Flew on twelve other missions with eleven different Pilots (136, 142, 196, 220, 222, 223, 231, 233, 234, 155, 159 & 160). Was upgraded from CoPilot to Pilot on orders dated 8 September 1944. Flew on four missions as a 1st Pilot (238, 239, 249, 250)

  • 2Lt John H. Whitman (N) - Did not fly on six missions (135, 144, 146, 147, 149, 165). Flew on five other missions with four different Pilots (165, 180, 189, 190, 192). Completed combat tour on 25 June 44.

  • 2Lt Kenneth L. Harper (B) - Did not fly on four missions (135, 136, 137, 138). Flew on three other missions with two different Pilots (180, 190, 192). Completed combat tour on 28 June 1944.

  • Sgt James A. Eisenhauer (E), S/Sgt Leonard V. Sorese (R), S/Sgt Richard A. Gentry (BTG) and S/Sgt Robert E. Franklin (TG) - Did not fly on three missions (135, 187, 188). Flew on three other missions (139, 140, 142). S/Sgt Sorese also flew on mission 171. Completed combat tours on 23 June 1944.

  • S/Sgt Walfred J. Korpi (WG) - Did not fly on nine missions (135 and 179 through 188). Crew flew with only one waist Gunner after mission 177. Flew on seven other missions with two different Pilots (139, 140, 142, 178, 182, 184, 186). Completed combat tour on 23 June 1944.

  • S/Sgt Homer J. Ward, Jr. (WG) - Did not fly on five missions (135, 176, 177, 187, 188). Flew on four other missions (139, 140, 142, 177). Completed combat tour on 23 June 1944.

  • Note: The six Lt Oranges enlisted Crewmen that flew on missions 139, 140 & 142 were with 2Lt Elton L. Jenkins as Pilot. Lt Jenkins had been upgraded from CoPilot to Pilot on orders dated 4 April 1944. Missions 139, 140 & 142 were his last three missions and only missions as 1st Pilot.
