Crew Pilots
- Lt Melvin Skepron was the original crew pilot at Pyote AAF, TX in
September 1944. Lt Skepron was KIA in Northern Ireland crash during the
overseas flight from USA to UK.
- Lt John F. Coppom became the Pilot replacing Lt Skepron with Lt Stevens as
CoPilot. Crew Flew 8 missions with the Lt Coppom as Pilot (101, 105, 107, 109,
110, 111, 114, 115).
- Lt David Hicks became the crew Pilot and Lt Stevens continued as CoPilot
when Lt Coppom completed his 25 mission combat tour. Crew flew 7 missions with
Lt Hicks (118, 119, 120, 121, 122, 123, 124)
- Lt Joseph E. "Jack" Stevens became the crew Pilot shortly before Lt Hick's
completed his combat tour. Crew dispatched on 15 missions with Lt Stevens as
Pilot (125, 126, 127, 128, 129, 132, 133, 134, 135, 138, 129, 140(A), 141, 142, 143)

- 2Lt Amon E. Earhart (CP) - Flew on three missions (125, 126 & 127).
Four other CoPilots used: 2Lt Paul L. Ellsworth (132, 133, 134, 135, 139,
140(A), 141, 142, 143); Three other CoPilots (128, 129, 138)
- 1Lt Robert A. Finley (B) - Flew on all missions except three where
substitute Bombardiers were used (109, 114, 132)
- T/Sgt Eddie Deerfield (R) - Flew on one mission with Lt Hicks (122) and
twelve with Lt Stevens (125, 126, 127, 128, 134, 135, 138, 139, 140(A), 141,
142, 143). T/Sgt Gaylord W. Geisman (R), original crewman,
flew on the Lt Coppom missions and first four Lt Hicks missions. Was wounded
and hospitalized on mission #121 (16 March 1943) and removed from combat
status. Was replaced by T/Sgt Eddie Deerfield. Substitute Radio Operator,
S/Sgt Oscar Villasenor, used on five missions (123, 124, 129, 132, 133).
- S/Sgt Melvin E. Schultz (BTG) flew on six Lt Stevens missions (126, 127,
128, 129, 132, 133). S/Sgt John F. Deffinger flew on the Lt Coppom
missions and first two Lt Hicks missions. The Lt Hicks crew used two
substitute BTGs. The Lt Stevens crew used five other BTGs - S/Sgt
Harold G. Reid on two missions (134, 135); S/Sgt David O. Michael
on two missions (139, 140); S/Sgt Thomas E. Weaver on three missions
(141, 142, 143); Other BTGs on two missions (125, 138)
- S/Sgt Marion F. Fitko - Flew on all Lt Coppom, Hicks and Stevens
missions except mission 109 where a substitute was used.
