Crew Notes:
- 1Lt Clinton A. Moser (P) - First mission (129) as CoPilot with an
experienced combat crew. Other missions (129 to 178 and 211) as a Crew Pilot. Two missions
(179, 186) as a Group Lead CoPilot, Lt Richard H. Cole, Pilot. Nine
Missions as a Lead Crew Pilot flying leading the low or high squadron formations
(180, 182, 185, 187, 190, 194(A), 195, 197, 201)
- 2Lt Andrew L. Lux (CP) - Flew with the 1Lt Moser Crew on five missions
(132, 133, 134, 137, 138). Was killed in action by flak fragments on the bomb
run on mission #138, 20 April 1944. He is buried in the Cambridge American Cemetery in
England . Fourteen different CoPilots were used after Lt Lux's death.
- 1Lt Rolf W. Andreason (N) - Dispatched with the 1Lt Moser crew on
fifteen missions (132 through 159). Substitute Navigators used on the remaining
nineteen 1Lt Moser missions (164 through 211). 1Lt Andreason flew on twenty-one
additional missions with six different Pilots - ten with the Lt David E. Fackler
Crew.
- 2Lt Frank P. Campbell (B) - Dispatched with the 1Lt Moser Crew on fifteen
missions (132 through 159). Substitute Bombardiers used on the remaining
nineteen 1Lt Moser missions (164 through 211). 2Lt Campbell flew on twenty-one
additional missions with eight different Pilots - nine with the Lt David
E. Fackler Crew.
- T/Sgt John T. Zionoski (R) - Did not fly with the 1Lt Moser crew on two
missions (194, 195). Substitute Radio Operators used.
- Sgt Donald E. Raines (WG) - Dispatched on fifteen missions with the 1Lt
Moser crew (132 through 159). The second waist Gunner position was deleted
after mission #159. Sgt Raines flew no other 303rd BG(H) missions. A second substitute
Waist Gunner was used on lead crew mission #182.
- Other crewmen S/Sgt Willis A. Duffey (E), T/Sgt John T. Zionoski (R), Sgt
Vernon Parrish (BTG), T/Sgt Pearl E. "Ed" Mays (WG - was a rated Flight Engineer),
and Sgt Joseph A. Seelock (TG) - Dispatched on all of the thirty-five 1Lt Moser
missions.
