303rd Bomb Group (H) History

October 1st    

October 1, 1942
8th AF: HQ 350th Fighter Group and the 345th, 346th and 347th Fighter Squadrons are activated at Bushey Hall, England; the ground echelons of the squadrons are at Harding Field, Louisiana and will sail to North Africa for the invasion.

October 1, 1943
303rd BG: The entire 8th AF stood down. The 303rd BG (H) conducted some local transition flights.

October 1, 1943
8th AF: A report by the intelligence section of the 8th AF shows that despite recent efforts of the Allies to destroy the German aircraft industry, fighter production has expanded greatly and enemy fighter strength on the Western Front has increased.

October 1, 1944
STRATEGIC OPERATIONS 8th AF: Mission 657: 9 of 10 B-17s drop leaflets in France, the Netherlands and Belgium during the night.
